Part of the proceeds from You Saw Me Standing Alone will be donated to City in the Community (CITC). The Manchester City charity is recognised as one of the finest projects of its type in the country – thanks largely to the role played by Alex Williams over more than three decades.

He was the driving force behind a charity which helps communities in Manchester lead happier and healthier lives.

His work on that front is done; others are now carrying the baton but Alex still wants to help.

That is why he is keen proceeds from his autobiography will be donated to a charity forever in his heart.
